PARAMEDIC EMERGENCY CARE

Fort Smith EMS provides emergency care to over 90,000 residents in 65 square miles. Care is provided by over 70 state licensed EMS personnel (59 Paramedics, 1 EMT-Intermediates, 13 EMT-Basics) and a fleet of 8 advanced lift support units (4 Primary Units, 2 Long Distance Transfer Units, 2 Reserve Units).

EMERGENCY MEDICAL DISPATCH

Fort Smith EMS processes all Emergency Medical Dispatch requests in Sebastian County. This quality service is provided by our 12 nationally certified EMD (emergency medical dispatchers) in our enhanced 9-1-1 center. The center allows dispatchers to quickly locate callers, provide pre-arrival instructions, and dispatch the appropriate resources.
